Outpost and Fly in Fishing

top_space.jpg

Kairaskons Lake is a deep crystal clear lake with rugged shorelines and beautiful wilderness. It is surrounded by three large bays that are like small lakes themselves. These bays have different water clarity and depths which present different fishing opportunities. In addition there are three portage lakes (Smoulder Lake, Upper Furlong and Lower Furlong Lake) that provide additional fishing opportunities.

Kaiarskons Lake is located 20 miles east of Nestor Falls, which lies on the east side of Lake of the Woods.  The scenic flight is approximately 20 minutes.

FISHING OPPORTUNITIES

LAKE TROUT
Kairaskons offers excellent lake trout fishing throughout the season. From ice out until the end of June these hard fighting fish can be caught in less than forty feet of water by jigging, trolling, or shore fishing. In the summer months we vertically jig in the forty to seventy foot depths. Trout fishing is excellent all season and we highly recommend that you spend part of your trip targeting this exciting species.

WALLEYE
Kairaskons is a trophy walleye fishery. If you are looking for a trophy walleye this is the lake for you! Several thirty five inch fish have been landed with lots of stories of the monster that got away. We have fished a lot of great walleye fisheries in Canada and for size, Kaiarskons is second to none. This is not a numbers lake for walleye but for that chance for a trophy of a lifetime Kaiarskons is the place to be. For numbers of walleyes a short portage to Smoulder Lake is recommended where we have boats and motors awaiting your arrival.

SMALLMOUTH BASS
Kairaskons Lake has very rocky shorelines, steep points, and lots of reefs, which provide great habitat for smallmouth bass. Although the bass fishing is great on Kaiarskons the guides like to go for an adventure to Upper Furlong for consistent catches of bigger bass.

NORTHERN PIKE
Pike fishing is good on all of the lakes we have access to however we seem to target the other species more. Every year several monsters are landed by the guests that target this species, as well as a bonus by guests who get lucky while fishing for other species.

Clary's Hunt
We offer remote deer hunting opportunities at Kaiarskons Lake and Shoal Lake. The whitetail population is at an all time high in Northwest Ontario and we are located right in the middle of it.

At our remote locations we hunt mainly by boat to get to our heated ground stands. We prefer to hunt out of heated ground stands which provides for  a comfortable scent proof situation. Being in a scent proof blind gives you the chance to select the buck you wish to harvest without them even knowing you are there.  This is one example of how we hunt but we can tailor our hunting packages to suit your needs and desires.

Our guided package includes; guide, food, cabin, boats and motors, gas.
$2,200 CDN + taxes + buck tag + transport tag and gun registration.
