FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What should we bring?

    Rain suits, extra warm clothing, bug spray, sun screen, fishing equipment or fire arms, extra boots or shoes, bathing suits, polarized sunglasses.  Housekeeping guests can bring their food or purchase it in town.

  • How can we find you?

  • What else can we do besides fishing?

  • Can we bring our pets?

    We have a camp dog, so we accept family pets. We ask that you please look after your dog. We find most sportsmen have well trained dogs. Guests will be responsible for any damages to furniture etc. No cats.

  • Is your lodge “wife friendly”?

    “Wife friendly” seems to be a new buzz word and we are often asked this question. Meline’s Lodge is very wife friendly – by this we mean each cabin is spacious and very modern. Each is totally equipped with a modern kitchen, new furniture, remodeled bathrooms, air-conditioning, deck with BBQ, private parking, close to shopping, Greens Bar, mini-golf, other restaurants, etc.

  • What is your menu plan?

  • Can we bring our own boat?

    We have many guests who bring their own boat and they challenge Lake of the Woods on their own. Some guests dine with us in our dining room; others cook for themselves in their cabin or combine a little of both. There is no charge to tie your boat to one of our docks. Each dock has electrical outlets and lights. Our guests can also hire a guide to fish with them in their boat.

  • Are all of your packages for 1 week?

    No, we will try to fit in every group, for any duration they request.  We try to work with our guests to plan an experience that suits their group.

  • What is your Cancellation Policy?

    We understand that late cancellations are an unavoidable part of this industry, however, in such a short season cancellations are very costly to us, especially during peek times.  We prefer to apply any cancellation deposits toward a different package on another date.  However, if we encounter cancellations less than 2 months before the arrival date, the deposit may be forfeited. 

  • Where can I get Fishing Licenses and Hunting Tags?

  • Does Meline’s Lodge accept credit cards?

    We accept Visa, Master Card and Personal Cheques.

  • Is there access to a phone, internet or wireless internet?

    We have a phone and a computer with internet for our guests to use at no cost in the main office.  We also have wireless internet for those guests who wish to bring their own laptops.
